riddle

Mom emailed this riddle, entitled “A Riddle for Seniors”:

You are on a horse, galloping at a constant speed.

On your right side is a sharp drop-off.

On your left side is an elephant traveling at the same speed as you.

Directly in front of you is a galloping kangaroo and your horse is unable to overtake it.

Behind you is a lion running at the same speed as you and the kangaroo.

What must you do to get out of this highly dangerous situation?

Art by Committee

After much hilarity after having posted my art, dahling, I’ve decided we need to look at the painting from several angles.

As posted first:

Happy Pigs in Space

Happy Pigs in Space–the artist photographed the painting, having ignored the original working angle.

I’ve been watching the original Muppet Show, so am getting echo reminders of Pi-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-gs in Spa-a-a-a-a-a-a-ace even if I haven’t seen any episodes yet.  Jude so kindly named the painting for me/us after I kept calling it The Thing.

As further suggested by Jude on the Committee:

DSCN0044

The Three Fishes

DSCN0043

The Three Fishes (goin’ thataway!)

As intended by the artist, and continually referred to as the thing (not really bothering to give the words the honor of title case until spoken to by Pix on the Committee, who was worried about giving the painting a complex):

Roses Are Not Always Red! (named by Jude on the Committee)

Are we ready for the framers?  (hahahahahahahahahaa!)

Pusheen the cat

This animated cat is way too funny!

dark roasted blend

Big Mister loves this blog and I have just remembered to look at it.  (Never mind.)    Here is how the authors represent the blog:

dark roasted blend:  ‘highly visual “Weird & Wonderful” online magazine to complement your daily coffee ritual.’

‘The “Dark Roasted Blend” online magazine is dedicated to the ongoing quest for wisdom and beauty, for all things cool and wonderful in our world, featuring the best in art, travel and fascinating technology.

‘The “Thrilling Wonder Publication” bi-line stands for the sense of wonder that has been largely neglected in our cynical times. To that end, our “Thrilling Wonder” family of sites try to promote “the intense, wonderful and never-boring” side of things.’

If Neil Gaiman likes this, then I’d better pay attention!

I had a little trouble figuring out how to subscribe by email, so in case anyone else needs a boost….  Here’s an annotated screen shot of the subscription page:

you know how when you’re drunk…

… you sometimes try to carry on civilized conversation?  Maintaining, we used to call it in the other-drug-addled days.   And sometimes you give away the besotted-show when happening on a single word?  Here’s one that’s a killer for me when I’m sober!

Go ahead, you say it, but do keep to the intended number of syllables.  If you can.

PS.  hahahhahahahaha

(PPS.  I am posting with the tag and category Humor.  How long has it been?!  Lordy, will wonders never cease?  Prolly not, cos that’s how it has been working for me.  The wonders, that is.  Working.  Me.  Grateful.)

Bookworm, the game

I just love this word-find game!  It’s a long story, but yesterday was the first day I could get it to work since I got my new MacBook 1-1/2 years ago!

The Universe needs its laughter, so I’m happy to oblige as the joke’s-on-you-du jour.

Bookworm online.

Bookworm to buy as a downloadable game.

(PS.  I haven’t lost my sense of fun, though it does go missing occasionally!)

blogging friends

After I got out of hospital in mid-February, I was away from blogging world because the computer made me too queasy.  Took me ages to start wandering through the blogs I follow.

One day, made lovely by this discovery on heretherebespiders, I got a big ole dose of the warm fuzzies!  I was reminded that we really do connect here in blog-world!

Thank you, Spiders, for noticing that I was absent and for the fun art! (She had posted this on her blog: http://wp.me/p1TTEc-d7.)

how hard could it be? (for my brother!)

which one's the throttle?

Blast off!

this one bears looking at closely:
examine the picture starting from the middle and moving right. a light-colored, straight line is the tire track. on either side of that straight line are two scuffed tracks running parallel to the tire tracks. Those scuffed tracks are the Fred Flintsone feet of my brother, tryin' to stop that scooter!
I was laughing way too hard to take a picture of that, but the tracks are a perfect testament to what happens when our hands freeze on the throttle.

Wheee!
