how hard could it be? (for my brother!)

which one's the throttle?

Blast off!

this one bears looking at closely:
examine the picture starting from the middle and moving right. a light-colored, straight line is the tire track. on either side of that straight line are two scuffed tracks running parallel to the tire tracks. Those scuffed tracks are the Fred Flintsone feet of my brother, tryin' to stop that scooter!
I was laughing way too hard to take a picture of that, but the tracks are a perfect testament to what happens when our hands freeze on the throttle.

Wheee!

And I like the contradiction of a heavy metal man on a scooter!
Did you have Mods and Rockers in the US in the early 60s?

I remember that guy! He really hasn’t changed much. Hair is shorter though :)

I love that he had to wear the rock T to drive the scooter :) Did you have a go?

It’s the Big Mister’s scooter and I’ve had plenty of tries (I also had my own for years, but sold it to get a 150cc but we bought a house instead!)–that’s how I know about the hand freezing on the throttle–you know how when you hit the gas, you’re shoved backward by the g-forces, and your hand pulls on the throttle. There you are leaning backwards, and the hand is a claw on the throttle! I can’t tell you how hard I was laughing even though he was heading straight for the neighbor’s berry shrubs!

He is older than I am and rocks out! I lend him my car when he visits and after he’s driven it, I can tell because when I turn on the key, the radio blasts the metal rock!

I never knew you were a scooter-mama! I’m beginning to think you might have fit in with those Mods spoken about elsewhere. Do you love old VW campervans? :) I never had the hand freeze when I learned to drive a bike! I don’t think… I did have a pretty good wreck early on tho. You gotta once!
Yay, brother Purple! I still rock out, daily, on my commute.

Prolly! I drove a red ’65 VW convertible bug for years. Mom had a VW camper van and drove it frequently from Arizona to Mexico for months of birding.

Yikes, a wreck. You hurt? You kept riding, obviously.

I love your descriptions of rock-eting to work at 70! Well, I want you to be safe and whole, but your description is so joyful that I can’t frown at you!

I almost can hear you laughing :) These photos are very funny and I can see you in one of them, btw. You are reflected in a scooter :)
