Great photos, Laurel. As I recall, ice can be hauntingly beautiful.

nope! husband took the garbage can to the street last p.m. and since he didn’t bother to wear socks with his bathrobe attire, his ankles got cut by the ice! i like the view from INSIDE!

The picture of your crow looks like it could be a real one, but really really frozen! Hope you are staying warm!

Hey! I must have been in the great radio silence when you posted this. Wow! We don’t get that here. I just love how the contorted branches look encased in ice. We’ve been in Switzerland a few times, and they get all the evergreen branches bedecked with icicles, but it’s not this solid casing. Amazing…..to look at ;)

And you’ve brought back to me the surreal feeling of being in hospital. Yikes…

Not an oops at all – its been over a decade since I was in, but that weird disassociated feeling isn’t easy to forget: sleep…wake a for what feels like a few mins…odd food…odd tests…sleep…and in the middle of the night you get it all again except for the odd food. did you get broth or Jello as ‘food?’ Wasn’t it the most amazing thing EVER?

sounds like you had a time of it in hospital, girl. yes, my first morning they gave me grape juice and jello! i HATE jello, but i gobbled it up because it was like liquid and i was still badly dehydrated.

i’ve had more amazing times, believe me–like being on an ocean that would just as soon drown me as not…. more fun! >:-D
